Refund & Returns
Policy
All purchases on Freecourse are for digital content and are governed by French consumer law. Please read this policy carefully before purchasing.
Important — Please read before you buy
All content on Freecourse is digital and delivered instantly online. Therefore, once you start accessing it, no refund can be claimed. This rule comes directly from Article L.221-28 13° of the French Code de la consommation. By completing your purchase, you agree to these terms.
Where we operate
Freecourse runs from France. As a result, French law governs all purchases, disputes, and refund requests. Specifically, the French Code de la consommation applies to every transaction on this platform.
What French law says about digital content
“Le droit de rétractation ne peut être exercé pour les contrats de fourniture d’un contenu numérique non fourni sur un support matériel dont l’exécution a commencé après accord préalable exprès du consommateur et renoncement exprès à son droit de rétractation.”
In simple terms: French law removes the right of withdrawal for digital content once you start using it. However, this only applies if you give your clear agreement before purchase. Consequently, Freecourse collects this agreement at checkout.
Which courts handle disputes
What we sell
Everything on Freecourse is a digital product. This includes online courses, mock exam packs (Sujets Zéro), QCM packs, and all other online learning content. Because of this, special rules apply.
All sales are final — no refund after access
Under Article L.221-28 13° of the French Code de la consommation, all digital sales on Freecourse are final from the moment you gain access. Therefore, Freecourse will not issue any refund, credit, or exchange after you open the content.
Situations where no refund applies
This rule applies in all cases. For example, no refund is possible if:
-
You only accessed a small part of the content — even briefly
-
You feel the content does not match your level or needs
-
You changed your mind after the purchase
-
You bought the item by mistake — so please check your order carefully before confirming
-
A minor made the purchase without parental permission

The general rule
As explained above, all sales are final. However, Freecourse may consider a refund in two very specific cases. Note that even in these cases, the final decision belongs to Freecourse alone.
Case 1 — Platform failure on our side
You could not access the content at all
If a proven technical failure on our platform prevents you from accessing any part of your purchase for more than 7 days in a row, you can submit a request. However, this does not apply to connection problems on your side, such as your internet or device.
Case 2 — You were charged twice
Duplicate charge due to a billing error
If our payment system charges you twice for the same item, we will refund the extra amount after verification. To get this resolved, you must report it within 7 days of the charge and include proof from your bank.
How to submit a request
Why we ask for your agreement
French law requires us to collect your clear agreement before we remove your right of withdrawal. Therefore, we include a required step at checkout. Here is how the process works:
Review the product
First, the product page shows you the full content, format, level, and scope of what you buy. Additionally, free previews are available where possible.
Tick the consent box
At checkout, you must tick a box confirming: “I ask for immediate access to this digital content. I also accept that I lose my right of withdrawal once access starts, as stated in Article L.221-28 of the French Code de la consommation.” You cannot complete your purchase without this step.
Confirm your payment
Your payment goes through securely. As a result, your order confirmation email serves as legal proof of your purchase and of your consent.
Get instant access
You get access to your content right away. Consequently, your right of withdrawal ends at this point and no refund is possible from here on.
Why this consent is legally binding
By collecting your clear consent before we give you access, Freecourse follows the exact steps that French law requires. Therefore, this agreement is legally valid and binding. Once you confirm your purchase, this consent cannot be undone.
Our commitment to quality
Freecourse works hard to keep all content working well. Nevertheless, if you run into a technical problem, please contact us right away before assuming you need a refund.
How we handle technical issues
-
Report within 48 hours — If you report a problem within 48 hours of purchase, we give it top priority and fix it as fast as possible.
-
We fix it within 7 days — For verified problems on our side, we aim to solve them within 7 business days. In addition, we extend your access for as long as the issue lasts.
-
If we cannot fix it — In rare cases where we cannot solve a confirmed platform issue within 7 days, we may offer a credit, a swap for other content, or a refund. However, this only applies to problems on our side — not yours.
What is not our responsibility
Same rules apply to all prices
If you buy an item on sale, with a discount code, or during a special offer, the same no-refund rules apply. A lower price does not change the terms of your purchase.
Discounts do not change the refund policy
A sale price only means a lower cost — it does not modify the terms of sale. As a result, no refund, price change, or late discount applies to any order, whether at full or reduced price. Furthermore, discount codes are single-use, cannot be shared, and have no cash value.
Contact us first
We take all chargeback requests very seriously. If you have a problem with a charge, please contact us first. We respond within 24 hours and we aim to solve all real issues quickly.
What happens if you open a dispute without contacting us
If you open a chargeback or dispute with your bank without first reaching out to us in good faith, we will take the following steps:
-
We suspend your account right away — Freecourse suspends your account and removes access to all purchased content until the issue is resolved.
-
We submit evidence to the payment provider — We send your consent record, access logs, and order confirmation directly to the bank to challenge the dispute.
-
We may take legal action — In cases of bad-faith disputes, Freecourse reserves the right to pursue legal action under French law to recover all losses, including fees and costs.
-
We may ban your account permanently — Accounts linked to fraudulent disputes may receive a permanent ban from the platform.
